We are excited to announce that Patrick Cox has joined Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP as a Partner. Prior to joining WSS, Patrick was Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Advice, Litigation and Regulatory Strategy with LPL Financial where he was responsible for all litigation, regulatory, and legal advice matters for the firm’s business units.  Prior to LPL, Patrick spent 12 years as in-house counsel for Morgan Stanley and Ameriprise Financial, and he has handled hundreds of matters ranging from wrongful termination, raiding and recruiting, retail arbitrations, class actions, shareholder actions and internal investigations.  Patrick has served as General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, Chief Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer and Head of Infrastructure Risk Management, as well as working on due diligence issues for numerous acquisitions at LPL and Ameriprise. Patrick also continues to provide expert witness and consulting services to clients in the areas of cybersecurity, data privacy, technology compliance, employment, raiding and recruiting, sales practice, and supervision.

Prior to working in-house, Patrick was a civil litigator, an Adjunct Associate Professor at Fordham University School of Law, an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, and a law clerk at the U.S. Court of International Trade. Patrick is an experienced advocate who received his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Loyola Marymount University.
