Alexander A. Truitt is an associate with Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and business disputes, as well as the defense of professionals, including financial services professionals, broker-dealers, attorneys, insurance agents and brokers, architects and engineers. In the course of his practice, Mr. Truitt has successfully litigated commercial, professional liability, securities, and ERISA cases before state and federal courts throughout the United States, as well as before arbitration tribunals, such as FINRA, AAA, and JAMS.
Mr. Truitt is a 2008 graduate of Ithaca College, where he earned his B.A. in philosophy. He received his J.D., cum laude, in 2014 from New York Law School, where he was also awarded the school's Public Service Certificate for his dedication to providing pro-bono public legal services. While at New York Law School, Mr. Truitt was a member of the New York Law School Securities Arbitration Clinic and participated as both a coach and competitor in moot court competitions, including the FINRA and St. John's Securities Dispute Resolution Triathlon and the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
Mr. Truitt is admitted to practice law in New York. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York. Mr. Truitt also serves on the panel of public arbitrators for FINRA Dispute Resolution.
